Zach Rogers
Commentator
A recent master’s graduate of New York University’s Center for European and Mediterranean
Studies, Zach focuses primarily on cultural history in Eastern Europe and the Balkans with a
focus on art and literature. He wrote his master’s dissertation on the topic of censored authors in
the Soviet Union, and how authoritarianism impacts creatives in their work.
Currently an employee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Zach is seeking a career in a historical or art institution that upholds the value of diverse voices and promotes cultural
understanding through ongoing scholarship. He obtained his bachelor's degree in history from
Slippery Rock University where he focused on Eastern European history with an emphasis on
media and misinformation. His background in the arts and his passion for political history
inspires him to write as often as he can, and to continue to speak out against the disillusionment
of growing authoritarianism.
